Gold Standard - First for North West Company
Hughes Safety Showers is the first manufacturer in the North West to achieve the Investors in People Gold Award. The company has held Investors in People accreditation since 2002 and this latest extension to the award is designed to stretch organisations even further.
Currently 30,000 companies are accredited to Investors in People. Since the introduction of the additional Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in May 2009, only 105 of the companies that have been re-assessed have achieved Gold, none of which are in the manufacturing sector. To qualify for the top award, applicants have to meet a minimum of 165 evidence requirements including the 39 required for the standard Investors in People Award.
The Investors in People Gold award together with the recently acquired Environmental Management Standard ISO14001 tops off a successful year for Hughes Safety Showers. The Company, Europe's leading manufacturer of Emergency Safety Showers and Decontamination Equipment, recorded strong growth during 2009 with a 10% increase in sales and a 35% increase in overseas business.
